We recently had the pleasure of hosting an internal seminar by Dr. Yuki Kikuchi, Lecturer in Sensory, Perceptual and Cognitive Neuroscience at Newcastle University.
The seminar, titled "Neural Circuits of Communication Sounds: Towards Circuit-Specific Interventions for Mental Health Disorders," explored cutting-edge research on how communication sounds are processed in the brain and their potential to enable more precise, non-invasive interventions for mental health disorders.
Dr. Kikuchi shared insights into the role of neural circuits in conditions such as anxiety, autism, and dementia, as well as the development of innovative auditory-based approaches that may contribute to future personalized therapeutic strategies.
The presentation sparked engaging discussions and thoughtful questions from our researchers, providing a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas across disciplines.
We sincerely thank Dr. Kikuchi for sharing her expertise and inspiring our research community.
