Job Overview
HRI-JP is looking for a “Quantum Communication/Quantum Computing Algorithm Researcher” to establish quantum technology research as a new research field and lead its launch.
- Develop your own research lines in close collaboration with the sister companies HRI-EU and HRI-US, to fulfill HRI’s strategic goals.
- Find the latest trends in the fields of quantum communication, sensing, and computing, and assess their status and potential value for Honda.
- Create and/or enhance your research network with academic and industrial partners to solidify Honda’s position in the field of Quantum Technologies.
- Supervise MSc and PhD students in collaboration with academic partners.
- Share your results with the community through publications in scientific journals and international conferences.
<Mission>
To identify the latest trends in quantum technology, determine the value and areas of quantum technology research to be pursued, and proactively promote quantum algorithm research. Actively disseminate research results through international conferences and papers to enhance the company's presence.
Required Skills/Experience
- PhD degree in physics, mathematics, computer science or related discipline with focus on quantum computation, communication and/or sensing.
- Publications in international conferences and high impact journals in the field to quantum communication, sensing, computing, physics, mathematics and/or computer science.
- 3+ years of software development experience Python, Matlab, C/C++, Julia or similar, familiar with open-source scientific packages (mission, Qiskit, Cirq, OpenFermion, PyTorch, PySCF).
- Upper intermediate English language level (e.g. CEFR level B2 or higher).
- Japanese language skills are a plus but not a requirement to apply.
